Thanks Guaranteed

Day Woman greets the sunrise with song, singing the day into form with ancient songs of another century. December's blue moon on New Year Eve has turned the calendars into 2010, the first decade of the century. Today, half the people on earth are age 30 and under. Today, the uncertainty of tomorrow marks our children's futures. Today, tomorrow is not guaranteed.
It never has been, that's what the old man always said. "Your tomorrow's not guaranteeeed", he would bellow, sharing both his wisdom and his sadness. As a Cheyenne elder, he had seen many loved ones pass on to the happy hunting grounds. Indeed, tomorrow is not guaranteed.
But today, today is the present, the gift, another day to raise the old songs to praise a new day and the miracle of life. In giving thanks we open our hearts to the beauty of the present moment. Our own personal abundance. The now. This Day Woman knows, and gives thanks.
